it's sickining how true this is. recentely one of the food channels had someone making the largest structure made of popcorn (mickey mouse statue) and at the end of it the just had to mention that there was no part of it that edable. absolutely sickining!!! (sorry for my poor spelling)
I don't donate because to be honest i don't trust most causes, i think they pocket to much of the moeny themselves. Though when a decent cause shows up that i believe actually get the money to who needs it, i donate.

Some people donate their money to starving children in Africa….. some people spend their money stacking pancakes to make world records. Which is more important?
learn to farm? yeh that wud be alright if they werent suffering from droughts, had clean water etc etc.
oh and why are the droughts getting worse i hear u ask? because of the 'developed' countries wasteful energy consumption which has led to global warming.
as a point of interest: roughly 25% of the world enjoy 75% of the wealth, surely theres something wrong here…
If nothing else the picture posted got you all to think about the world as a whole and other peoples plight. Now all there is to do, is do something about the situation. Great picture that stimulated a debate, who can ask for more? Well done John.
I like your work, good picture. I'm not sure if you ment to stimulate this debate about who should help who, what people should do about it and why but in my opinion, giving money to the governments of countries is wrong, giving food to countries is wrong and the only good thing that you can do as aid is build facilities that the locals need to live and learn.
Years ago MEDCs (more economically developed countries) gave money to vast amounts of LEDC's (opposite) governments, big mistake, most of them bought weapons and tanks and aircraft. Some of them built monuments of the tyrants and one build a nuclear reactor that could power a good chunk of the country, good eh? No, it was built on a volcano. That's why money needs to go to LEDCs education…
